Ok, at first I must admit to being a little skeptical about the whole Halo themed wedding. I just really couldn’t imagine that a bride would be willing to forge her most special day with Halo attire.

But then i thought about it, and it started to become clear to me. First, who wouldn’t want the Master Chief as their minister. (Although points off for not trying to sound more like the real Master Chief)

Second:Look at all the SPONSOR attention this thing as gotten. Holy cow what a great way to get a free wedding!! Not only was the event itself sponsored, but here’s an actual MTV created video interviewing the happy couple.

Third: (and this one blew my mind) It was actually the bride’s idea. Anyone who’s come close to a marriage ceremony knows the groom’s only acceptable response is “yes dear, whatever you want.” To hear that the bride not only wanted this ceremony herself, but built the website (and probably did the initial PR work) shows who wears the thinking cap in that family.

The only thing they really missed out on was an official appearance from Bungie folks. Either way though, what this boils down to is a unique couple wanting and willing to do something a little out of the ordinary, get publicity for it, and let people (help) pay for the thing.

While there’s a lot of people out there who no doubt say there’s no way they would do this, I ask you, why wouldn’t you?
