Waiting on November: Halo Sound Track to Drop on November 20, 2007

Since its release, the Halo effect has been compared to that of the Star Wars phenomenon. Now with the recent release of Bungie’s Halo 3, fans are holding their breath in anticipation for the November 20, 2007 release of Halo 3’s Two CD soundtrack.

Halo three is the final installment in the Halo Trilogy and will conclude the fate of Master Chief and Cortana, its Two CD original Soundtrack will be available in US on the 20th of November in all retail outlets. The Soundtrack is released through Nile Roger’s Sumthing Else Music Works label and will be available for download at www.sumthingdigital.com


The soundtrack will feature compositions from famed Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori. O’Donnell and Salvatori is the award winning composer who worked on previous Halo Soundtracks. In addition to musical score from the game, the soundtrack will feature bonus tracks that Martin O’Donnell recorded using a live orchestra.

In celebration of Halo 3’ release, Microsoft and Xbox have sponsored a contest wherein the winning band will have their song featured together in the soundtrack. The songs submitted will be judged by the Halo 3 album producers as well as Marty O’Donnell and a few popular bands and artists. The contest wrapped up on October 22, 2007 and the winners are to be announced on October 29, 2007. Second and third place winners will also receive consolation prizes and gift packs form Microsoft and Xbox worth $2500 US.

So, count the days till you can listen to the Halo 3 Soundtrack on your favorite MP3 player. Listen to it while reading the comics or graphic novels. Also while you toy with the action figures, play Halo Action Clix, and listen to it while you play the game.

Other than the Soundtrack, another Halo franchise that is anticipated with bated breath is the release of the 2008 movie. It is definitely something to look forward to.
