When you’re in a Master Chief-less battle against increasingly difficult waves of enemies is there anyone better to have on your side than Sergeant Major Avery J. Johnson?
That’s right, the rough and tough UNSC hero Sgt. Johnson may not have fared so well in Halo 3, but Halo 3: ODST takes place before the final installment of the Halo trilogy, meaning it’s SO game on. Those eager players who pre-order ODST at select retailers will receive a token to unlock Sgt. Johnson in the game’s new Firefight mode, which plays much like the Gears of War 2 Horde mode, only with progressively activated Halo 3 skulls giving the battle a bit of extra flavor.
Sgt. Johnson’s looking pretty good for a dead guy, isn’t he? It’ll be nice to take ol’ Avery out for a night on the town again, if only to give him a chance to kick just a little more ass before the inevitable happens to him in Halo 3.

I am probably the only 360 owner that isn’t that wild about this game, but the idea of playing as Sarge is pretty sweet.

In the beginning,I wasn’t really interested in ODST. That was until I got a look at Area 5’s Coop look at a live demo. The firefight part will be fun with all the points/medals and the fact that you still play Halo 3 without needing the disk is pretty cool. I imagine there will be some Halo 3 copies getting traded in at the local Gamestop in Sept.
