Sad News: Wii Fit Officially Overthrows Halo 3 in Sales

Yesterday it was confirmed that the glorified-scale-with-graphics-game – Wii Fit that the fitness title’s lifetime sales has now topped Halo 3’s lifetime sales. As of the end of February 2009, Wii Fit has sold 6 million copies in the U.S. while Xbox 360’s most popular First Person Shooter has moved only 5.9 million copies since its debut.
The other part about it is the $90 Wii Fit launched in the U.S. on May 21 of l2008, while Halo 3 hit the Xbox 360 on Sept. 25 of 2007.
With 6 million balance boards out collect dust, and even more Wii owners, don’t be surprised if there’s going to be even more games to come. Wouldn’t it be nice to see Sgt Johnson whipping you into shape while you pretend to hop over warthog wheels!
The bright news is that Halo Wars is well on its way to breaking a few sales records of its own – what with selling 1 million copies in about 3 weeks and all.
