Microsoft Confirms Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack Releases April 9th
After last week’s Bungie weekly update, ending with “PS: 04/09/2009″, we were wondering if April 9th would be the date Bungie has chosen to release their latest Hlao 3 update – the Mythic Map pack. Well, even if Bungie is content to tease us with dates thrown in to only be caught by the observant, Microsoft comes right out and says it. According to Microsoft directly, the Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack is officially coming out on Thursday, April 9th 2009.
So instead of coming out with a post about rumors and conjecture, we can now come out and confirm that in a press release, Microsoft verified the date, and highlighted the three new Halo 3 maps along with new Gears of War 2 maps due out on the 31st of this month.
Both downloadable content map packs will be available for 800 Microsoft points.

Meh, I’ve supported their last 2 map packs, but at $10 a pop for only 3 maps each, it’s a bit of a stretch. With ODST coming out in the fall containing all maps that they will ever release, I think I’ll pass. Wish I would have known before buying either pack, could have saved $20 bucks with some patience.

I would pay $10 for Sandbox by itself. The stuff they’re doing with that map is truly innovative and is proof why Bungie is considered one of the greatest developers (and arguably best community listener) ever.
