Mastering Valhalla

Valhalla Map
Click for large version

Valhalla is one of the maps found in Halo 3. It is a large canyon that has a lake in one end and a waterfall in the other with a downed Pelican found near the center of this map. It may seem similar to the Blood Gulch and Coagulation that were in Halo 1 and 2, but this map has its own arsenal and things to offer.

It has bases all over it. These bases are fully equipped with weapons and vehicles that you can use during combat. The Spartan Laser has a tendency to stand out in Valhalla because of its open spaces. Use it if you have it and also use the rocks and other areas to take cover and hide against the said weapon.

There are two bases found in Valhalla. One is the Waterfall Base and another is the Lake Base. All around this map you will find key locations and they are as follows: Pelican – centrally located in the map, Pelican Nose Cave – located closest to the Waterfall base, Pelican Rear Cave – located closest to the Lake Base, and the Turret which is located centrally.

A few of the weapons found on Valhalla are the following: 8 plasma grenades – 4 on each base, 9 Battle Riffles – 4 at each base and one in the cave next to the Pelican, 4 Plasma Pistols – Two at each base, 4 SMGs – Two on each base, 2 Spikers – one on each base, 2 Missile Pods – one on each, 1 Spartan Laser, and few others.

Vehicles found on Valhalla include: Mongooses, Warthogs and more. Make good use of the vehicles found in your arsenal as they can help you move around fast. Remember also that when in Valhalla a key factor to Victory is speed and to be in constant motion.

In this map you have access to a Regenerator, a Power Drain and a Bubble Shield. Also available on Valhalla is the Man Cannon. You can use the Man Cannon to propel yourself across the map. The man cannon can also propel vehicles that go through them. Just keep in mind that people using the Man Cannon are easy prey for sniper fire and grenades.
