Full Scoop On Halo 3: Recon, Including Box Art



Halo 3 Recon Multiplayer Campaign Bungie

Feast your eyes on your new man. Our new hero, new campaign and all that. Oh, and no, as you can see by the fact this is box art, this won’t be made available as a cheesy  downloadable pack. No Sir. Halo 3 Recon will be a full Game.
By now, you should have heard of Bungie’s next project, Halo 3: Recon. But if you’re still confused about what Halo 3: Recon, let’s try to run though what it is, and what it is not. And to help everyone figure it out, Bungie reps Luke Smith and Brian Jarrard wanted to get a few things out of the way, right off the bat.

Halo 3: Recon is not a tactical squad based shooter. Halo 3: Recon is not Splinter Cell: Halo. Halo 3: Recon is not Brothers In Arms: Halo. And apparently there’s a very, very good chance you’ll never, ever run into Master Chief.

As its turning out, the Master Chief and the rest of the familiar Halo cast won’t be popping up for cameos. They’re busy saving the world and stuff. So what is Halo 3: Recon? read more »

Ensemble Studios May Be Dead (Soon), But They’re Not Gonna Be Out



Ensemble Studios Halo Wars Closing

Ensemble Studios may be going down, but that doesn’t mean all those talented developers behind the Dallas-based, real-time-strategy centric studio are to be lost to the abyss.

Halo Wars Assistant Producer Bill Jackson has informed us that the “key team members” are all staying on board to finish up Halo Wars and get it out the door, and that all is not doom and gloom for the developers once the game wraps. read more »

Halo 3 Expansion Will Be A Prequel, Named Halo 3: Recon, Hits Fall 2009



Finally!!! Details on a what Bungie’s been up to recently. Of course its a Halo title, and courtesy of Microsoft’s Tokyo Game Show address, the Halo 3 singleplayer expansion – first revealed in a trailer a few weeks back – now has a name. Halo 3: Recon, along with a setting and a general release date. The expansion will serve as a prequel to the events of Halo 3, with the player taking the role of a UNSC recon soldier, who is our new hero for a new campaign. The expansion will be out in “Fall 2009″, with screenshots and video expected sometime soon.
