Todd McFarlane Releases Halo Action Figures Series 3 – Gives Walmart & Toys-R-Us Exclusive Units

Todd McFarlane, yes, the guy who created Spawn, is releasing his Series 3 Halo Action Figures, onto the world, with exclusive units going to Walmart & Toys’R'us in the very near future. His press release tells us that we can expect fully articulated versions of: Master Chief, Jackal Major, Flood Combat Human, War Chieftain, Spartan Soldiers, Elite Combat, to be hitting the store shelves this fall.

And if that’s not cool enough, there will be 5 special edition collectible action figures very much like the ones pictured below. read more »

Bungie Weekly Update: Screenshots of Halo 3’s New Multiplayer Map – Purple Reign – Debuts as Assembly

I know what you’re thinking…I thought the same thing. Why would Bungie go renaming such a cool sounding map like “Purple Reign” to “Assembly”? Marketing…What can we say. But once you get over the name change, the Halo Map Formerly known as Purple Reign, Now the Halo Map known as Assembly was unveiled to those of us unlucky enough to make it to Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) this year.

Those kind folks over at Bungie have given us 8 high resolution screenshots of their new multiplayer map Assembly you can check out after the jump.

Halo Wars Playable, But Not at PAX



Halo Wars With Flood

We’re sure by now you’ve heard of Ensemble Studio’s crack at a Real Time Strategy Game for the Xbox 360 based on the Halo verse. Of course, there’s still no official release date, just somewhere Q1 2009, but we found it strange that the only sign of the real-time strategy Halo Wars at PAX was during Graeme Devine’s presentation of the game during the show.

The good news is that just because there was no playable demo doesn’t mean the game’s not moving along nicely. In fact Devine, lead writer and a designer on Halo Wars, said that it will be playable at next weekend’s GameStop convention in Las Vegas. Perhaps it will even make an appearance at Tokyo Game Show.

And Devine is itching to unveil more about the game, specifically about the story he’s written for it. read more »
