Master Chief A “Supporting Character” In Halo Movie

Halo’s Warthog Vehicle

Our Super Spartan is the feature character of Halo - The game. So one would expect that he’d also be the star of Halo - the movie, right? Sorry, Nope.

The reason? Its too hard! According to Bungie writer Joe Staten as he talks to N’Gai Croal, they weren’t even going to give it a try. He says it’s waaaay too hard to try and tell a story through a giant man in armor whose face you can’t see. Instead, our Master Chief would have been relegated to a supporting cast member, while the humans - whose emotions you could see - can carry the film.

Joe Staten goes on to say:

…over time I think everybody around the table agreed that the Master Chief is best left as the most important supporting cast member. Where the Master Chief doesn’t have a face, but he has a whole body to emote with, whether it’s his spine, or his shoulders. or the tilt of his head, or the way he slumps or reloads his weapon. There are these kinesthetic responses that he’ll have which will really easily communicate the character and what he’s feeling. That’s hard to carry as a main character for an entire film. But you can certainly surround him with people who don’t have helmets on and you can see their faces. They’re normal actors doing their thing.

All i know is they better not forget Johnson.

WETA has Late Christmas Present for Bungie Employees - Guns!

Bungie’s Angels Team

It seems like with the writers strike, there’s not much going on for the folks in Hollywood. And with the Halo movie put on hold, the nice folks over at WETA, the company designing and manufacturing the props for the movie, sent the creators of Halo 3 some of their own weapons.

Now if only there we could get another game from Bungie with these girls in it…

More after the jump.

Now You Can Take Out Dust Like the Master Chief - Thanks Samsung SC9540

Samsung Master Chief Vacuum SC9540

Take a look at this beauty, what you’re seeing is an actual product from Samsung. Apparently someone over there has quite the affinity for our beloved game Halo 3. This brand new Samsung SC 9540 isn’t just all looks either.

The Silencio is not only going to scare the dust and dirt into submission, it’s also quieter than ever. The Helmut features a Multi Chamber suction system, which apparently is more powerful than conventional vacuum cleaners, and it maintains a superior level of suction no matter what surface type you are cleaning.

the SC9540 uses a Silver Nano technology and HEPA filtration system, so once you bust the baddies under your couch, you can rest safe knowing those buggers are coming back. The Silencio SC9540 also features a blue LED display and auto suction mode, which automatically adjusts the suction power depending on the type of surfacing you are cleaning.

Now all we need is someone at Microsoft or Bungie to reciprocate and add this bad boy as a add on weapon to Halo. Let’s see the flood survive a HEPA filtered vacuum storm!
